Bhitarkanika Wildlife Tour

Bhitarkanika - the land of mangroves is the major Tourism attraction in the coastal state of Orissa in India. Endowed with bounties of nature these wetland represents three protected areas, namely Bhitarkanika sanctuary, National Park and Gahirmatha Marine Wildlife sanctuary.

Places to visit: Dangmal, Bhitarkanika, Ekakula, Habalikhati and Kalibhanjadia.

Bhitarkanika Wildlife is an unique habitat of Mangroves forests criss-cross with numerous creeks and mud flats. The area is located between estuaries of Brahmani, Baitarni, Dhamra and Mahanadi river. Bhitarkanika is significantly known in the world due to its rich biological species. Out of 72 species, 63 varieties are found in mangrove land. It has one of the world's largest populations of Estuarine Crocodiles, In fact Gahirmatha coast is one of the largest rookeries of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles, making the World's famous destination. They are also harbors mammalian species like Spotted Deer, Sambhar, Wild Pig, porcupine, fishing Cats, Hyena, Mongoose, Otter, Irrawadi Dolphins & Bottle nose Dolphins. The estuary is reach with over 270 species of birds. There are 8 varieties of King Fishers available in this area. Rare bird species like Bar Headed goose, Brahmini duck, Pintail, Shoveller, Gadwall and Pelicans are the visitors to this island. The heronry at Bagagahan is unique and over 20, 000 resident bird species nest during monsoon on a saucer shaped multi species tree canopy of over 10 acres area.

Day 01:
Assemble at Bhubaneswar and transfer to Rajnagar (Dangmal). Check into forest guest house Dangmal, explore the virgin mangrove forest in the heart of the national park, It is the cynosure of Bhitarkanika having highest animal concentration. Herds of Spotted deer, huge crocodiles along with mudflats will greet you once you are there. Enjoy the evening cacophony of the various mangrove inhabitants. Before the dark back to the guest house. Overnight at the guest house (Dinner).

Day 02:
Breakfast in the morning and then proceed by boat to Bhitarkanika forest block located on the opposite side of Dangmal across the river. Bhitarkanika meadow spreads over 300 Hectares. Herds of Deers, Wild Boards and flocks of resident & migratory birds can be seen from the watch tower. Packed lunch served abroad the boat. Visit to Ekakula most secluded part and situated north of the National Park, Ekakula faces the sea on one side and Maipura river on the other. Besides mangrove forests, tranquil beach is added attraction. Back to forest guest house at Dangmal. Overnight at the guest house (Dinner).

Day 03 :
Breakfast and Check out. Transferred to Puri . Check in at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04:
Morning depart for sightseeing of Puri, and Konark. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05:
Morning depart for Satpada Dolphin Island), return to resort. Evening at leisure overnight at the hotel

Day 06:
Morning depart for Bhubaneswar Airport / Railway station to proceed to further destination.
