In fact, Kedarnath is full of snow and cool throughout the year, but the best place to explore the shrine is April and May. However, the point to be noted is that the shrine is closed on the first day of Kartik (Oct-Nov) and reopened in Vaishakh (Apr-May). During 9 months of shutting down the place of pilgrimage is inundated in snow and adoration is acted upon at Ukhimath. Last but not the least May to October is the best time to visit Kedarnath.

Talking about the major attractions of the place Kedarnath, then it is full of temples and trekking spots. Some of the most attractive places in the surrounding area of Kedarnath are :

Kedarnath Temple Kedarnath Temple : It is believed to be built up by Shankracharya in the region of Himalaya. It is also one of the toughest treks for worshipping the deity. Moreover, it is one of the twelve Jyothirlingas present in India.

Gaurikund Gaurikund : It is an amazing place in the snow caped peaks of Himalayas that is dedicated to Goddess Parvati.

Chandrashila Chandrashila : It is one of the most picturesque locations in the surroundings of Kedarnath that is also a mush preferred trekking spot in the locality.

Deoria Tal Deoria Tal : It is at the height of 3200 meters with a pleasant view. Deoria Tal’s crystline water is all the spellbound images of its beautiful surroundings. The place is believed a place where Pandavas were asked questions by Yaksha during their exile.
